Job Description

EAP Construction is seeking a qualified Welder to join our team immediately to support multiple projects across Calgary. We are looking for a skilled welding professional with experience in structural fabrication, installation, and site-based construction work within commercial, industrial, and civil environments.

Ideal candidates are safety-focused, dependable, and capable of working both independently and within a team to complete welding scopes in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Perform structural welding on-site for commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and structural details
  3. Fit, align, and weld steel components and assemblies
  4. Perform FCAW and MIG welding (SMAW/Stick an asset)
  5. Assist with installation of embedded plates, brackets, frames, and structural supports
  6. Complete field modifications and repairs as required
  7. Work closely with supervisors and other trades to support project sequencing

  1. Maintain welding equipment and ensure safe handling of tools and materials
  2. Ensure all work meets CSA standards and project specifications


Qualifications


  1. Journeyperson Welder Certificate (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent experience
  2. Minimum 3+ years of welding experience in construction or industrial settings
  3. Proficient in FCAW and MIG welding
  4. Ability to read and interpret structural drawings independently
  5. Valid safety certifications:
  6. CSTS 2020
  7. WHMIS
  8. Fall Protection (asset)
  9. Elevated Work Platform (asset)
  10. Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various Calgary job sites
  11. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  12. Ability to pass a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol Test (if required by project)


Assets


  1. Experience with structural steel erection
  2. Experience in industrial plants or infrastructure projects
  3. Ability to operate small fabrication equipment and tools
  4. Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
