Position: Equipment Operator
Location: Calgary, AB (Local Only)
Start Date: Early 2026
Projects: Commercial, Industrial, and Civil
Schedule: Monday–Friday (weekends as required)
EAP Construction is seeking experienced Equipment Operators to support multiple upcoming projects starting early 2026. We are looking for operators with hands-on experience running heavy equipment safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site requirements.
Ideal candidates are reliable, safety-focused, and capable of performing a variety of tasks while operating equipment such as skid steers, loaders, telehandlers, excavators, packers, and other construction machinery. Operators must be comfortable working in changing site conditions and able to support crew operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate construction equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training, competency, and site requirements
- Perform tasks such as excavation, loading, grading, backfilling, material moving, and site prep
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned equipment
- Identify equipment issues, report hazards, and follow safe work procedures
- Work closely with ground crews, spotters, and supervisors to complete daily tasks
- Maintain, clean, and care for equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow all site-specific safety protocols, traffic control rules, and project guidelines
- Assist with general labour duties when necessary
- Support timelines, material movement, and project sequencing based on supervisor direction
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment
- Valid operator certifications or competency tickets for applicable equipment
- (e.g., skid steer, loader, excavator, telehandler, packer — depending on background)
- CSTS 2020 and CSO (or equivalent safety certifications)
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and hazard awareness
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and varying weather
- Reliable transportation and punctuality required
- Ability to pass a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol Test (if required by project)
Assets
- Experience on civil or industrial projects
- Experience working around utilities, shoring, or trenching
- Telehandler (Zoom Boom) certification
- Excavator and backhoe experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
