Position: Journeyperson Carpenter / 4th-Year Carpenter – EAP Construction

Location: Multiple Projects in Calgary, AB 

Shift: Day shifts, Monday–Friday (weekends as needed)

Start Date: Early 2026

Job Overview


EAP Construction is seeking skilled Journeyperson Carpenters and 4th-Year Apprentices to support upcoming commercial, industrial, and civil projects beginning in early 2026.

We’re looking for experienced carpenters with strong blueprint interpretation skills, the ability to complete accurate layouts, and proven hands-on expertise in formwork and structural carpentry. This role is ideal for tradespeople who take pride in high-quality workmanship, understand sequencing and elevations, and can work efficiently with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  2. Perform accurate layouts, including elevations, gridlines, benchmarks, and formwork positioning
  3. Build, install, and strip concrete forms for footings, slabs, walls, columns, and structural components
  4. Work with Peri, Doka, Aluma and other engineered formwork systems
  5. Execute rough and finishing carpentry tasks to industry standards
  6. Verify that all work is square, level, plumb, and aligned with project tolerances
  7. Use trade math and measuring tools to ensure accuracy during construction
  8. Coordinate with site supervisors and support apprentices when required
  9. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety procedures
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned to support project needs


Requirements


  1. Journeyperson Carpenter ticket or 4th-Year Apprentice
  2. Strong ability to read blueprints and complete layout work independently
  3. Experience with commercial, civil, or industrial formwork systems
  4. Valid Fall Protection and Confined Space certifications (asset)
  5. Ability to lead tasks, work independently, and support junior team members
  6. Strong awareness of safety, quality, and construction standards
  7. Reliable transportation and ability to work in outdoor conditions
